Schappelle Corby Is Found Guilty

Well it has happened, she has been found guilty. Australia is in a state of shock, Schappelle Corby's face screwed up in anguish has been on the front page of every newspaper since Friday. The Australian population is calling for people to boycott Bali, because she was unfairly tried or some rubbish as such. Well if she is innocent then i say oh dear the poor thing. But for goodness sake people wake up and look at the case.

Corby refused to say who packed her bags, the man that was her only witness was awaiting his own trial for sexual abuse charges and refused to name the baggage handlers involved in putting the drugs in Corby's bags. She has used the media, crying on demand, slapping her forehead on demand, fainting when feeling the time is necessary.

I wonder, why is it that Lindy Chamberlain was persucuted by the media yet Corby is approved? We are to feel sorry for some silly woman who takes marijuana into a country where the punishment for drug smuggling is death? I personally think she should be glad that she only got twenty years imprisonment.

Now this brings me onto my next point about this particular case. I am wondering why it is we are supposed to believe this woman is innocent, even with the large holes in her case, yet not long after Corby was arrested a man with a small amount of cocaine in his bag, far less in amount than the marijuana found in Corby's bag was arrested and now faces the death penalty.

Well where are the websites for him? Why aren't we wearing yellow arm bands for this man? Why hasn't the media plastered his face and story all over for us to read? Why doesn't he have a Ron Bakir to back him? What about all the other Australians that are arrested for such crimes? What was it about Corby that made her so special compared to all the rest?

Nothing, nothing at all made her anymore special simply because she is no more innocent than any other person that claims they didn't take drugs to Bali. Of course people are going to say that when they get caught, they don't want to die. Its a natural reaction, but I honestly believe Australia cannot be filled with so many people that are so stupid as to see a woman crying on the television and instantly believe her. After all so many were ready to convict Lindy Chamberlain and Bilinda Leskie for crimes they both claimed not to have commited. If Schappelle Corby was on charges for killing a child would we still feel sorry for her? Would the media be portraying her as a little Aussie battler that is getting raw end of the stick? I'm not so sure they would instead people would walk around exclaiming how women like that don't deserve just jail time they deserve to be shot.

But drugs are different? Drugs don't bash children? Drugs don't kill people? Hmmmm it seems to me that as a result of taking drugs that these things do happen. Well I think the woman is guilty, I watched her sentencing, I saw how she looked at the camera and then forced out her crocodile tears. Someone who is innocent tells who packed their bags, they beg for their witness to tell the names not just let him cast it off because she might get hurt. I would rather to be knee capped than to be shot by a firing squad personally but then I am not planning on trafficking drugs into Bali so I guess I don't have to get my alibi up and ready.

Yes she has been found guilty, and no doubt her lawyers will appeal, and no doubt for the next six weeks that is all we are going to hear about, and like I predicted, her ex boyfriend has been in the newspapers, A Current Affair has already had their exclusive interview with her mum and I'm sure there is more to come. But with the appeal process the hilarious part is of her twenty year jail term she will probably spend fifteen of that in jail trying to win an appeal. Give up Australia, even if she does appeal it, and eventually wins, it will take years before she is finally free.
