May 27, 2005 History is, they say, written by the victors and so wether its the Allies triumphing over Nazi Facism or capitalism over terror... the victors will always write their myths and legends - their side of the story. When I was a kid, I was like any decent third grader to about fifth grade. I was a comic freak and I remember small sized WWII stories. It was heroism galore...... Limeys were offing Krauts in France, Limeys squaring off against the Boches on desert dunes in Africa, Yanks bayoneting Japs in dark jungles or still Limeys against Eyeties, spittires downing stukas or messechresmitt jets in aerial battles.... Mien Gott, holy moley, cor blimey, atchung! tchung! and so on and so on.... Single handedly Allied soldiers would scythe through a squadron of Germans, turn a machinegun around ,dive on live grenade, clobber with a rifle butt a whole platoon of babaric square heads or slit eyes....... Then I, we actually thought it was true, but with the Abu Graiabh prison(er) scandal, the proffered (then retracted Camp X-Ray) Newsweek scandal - incidences like My Lai, the use of Agent Orange.......its all easy to understand the prevalent strain a..... pseudo-complex in the military victors of the world..... that was the mindset of Mr Herr Shickle-grubber and Co. The Nazis borrowed from what the were French were doing [had done] in Algeria - because there the other side were dark skinned.....to the Nazis....Jews, gypsies were dark skinned. To the whats-her-name-again English the Iraqis were dark skinned. The U.S. military top brass has no excuse what soever, it doesn't matter what-individual-was-acting - on-what-solo-mission...bad eggs blah, blah! No, these were home grown Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho tow headed boys (and bad girls) who probably get embarrassed stiff by mushy phone calls from mom back at home - not some third world dumb heads. Maybe that is why the U.S. is so opposed to the proposed World Criminal Court? (Oh).
