May 27, 2005 You think your car gets crowded when setting off for that road trip, some celebrities take along much more than just material possessions it seems. With increased gas prices, some may take to the roads anyway, so here are some things and people some celebrities take along as well as a few items the more independent, non celebrity/millionaire types take too. According to Stuff magazine, singing sensation, Mariah Carey takes along a female assistant (Colombian woman) who is responsible for making sure Mariah’s long skirts do not touch the floor, in addition, this person, (the Colombian woman) also carries around a Louis Vuitton bag that’s filled with bottled water. Rap/hip hop artist, JaRule takes along a comedian who entertains him by way of telling jokes and Ludicris takes an assistant who is responsible for replacing the batteries in Ludicris’s gameboy portable video game system. And that’s fine since they can afford such luxury, but the non celebrity/millionaire type may have to settle for various media forms, such as your favourite comedian’s work on cd or cassette, packing extra batteries for the potable video game system of your choice, and yes not forgetting a six pack or two of bottled water, no assistant needed. And don’t forget the music cds, you know, the ones you’ve been trying to listen to for the longest while, but other pressing concerns kept occupying your time. And if your vehicle is not equipped with a navigation system, don’t forget the old standby, you know, the fold out, paper map. Especially if you are the type who is too embarrassed to stop at the nearest gas station to ask for directions. Also, if you have a passenger or two, make sure at least one of them knows how to read a map, so you, the driver, can keep your eyes on the road without being too distracted. Celebrity or not, family road trips are meant to be enjoyable, so enjoy and stop and take in the scenery once in a while. ------------ About the author Judy Ramsook: My first book titled: "Karen's Adventure" which is about two young girls who go in search of their missing parents, is now available.
