May 26, 2005 Jennifer Wilbanks INDICTED? For what? With the media again successful in having garbled the story to the point of utter confusion, I hope Robert - or someone - will enlighten me. I've been in the woods a lot lately, with the possible result that the country may have gone even further around the bend than I might have expected. Isn't a citizen of the United States free to take off any time he chooses? Can't he go anywhere he likes? Does he have to tell someone - file a flight plan like a pilot? Didn't Jennifer Wilbanks say she had been abducted AFTER she was found? Why would that be a crime (or is it also against the law to lie to a cop - like it is to lie to a fed?)? Do we now suppose that because everyone decides to look for us, we've committed a crime because we didn't file a flight plan? I live in the wilderness a great deal. Matter of fact, I happen to like to go and come when I feel like it, even sleep in my car (sometimes, when I don't like the damned motel bed, in a motel parking lot). Continually, I'm awakened by a cop tapping on the window. The rigmarole I'm put through usually includes the de rigeuer recitation concerning my safety. A few years ago, after a Rocky Mountain blizzard that caught a group of skiers, initiating a huge search, I was camped in the same general area. Awakened by a helicopter landing outside, I got up to discover that I was being "rescued." The men insisted that I couldn't be left on the mountain, "for your own good." I damned near had to drive them away at gunpoint. For the next few days and weeks, after having heard a recitation similar to what I'm hearing in the Willbanks case, I lived in fear of receiving a bill from my would-be rescuers. Why? Well, the retired soldier I was sharing conventional quarters with, hearing all the fuss and pronouncements concerning the "great danger" the skiers were in, had become worried and called to report that I was "out in the storm." When the skiers were found, much the worse for ear from their experience (and shear stupidity), their condition only made for greater justification of both my friend and my rescuers' actions. The pucker factor rose a couple of notches. Had I been handed a bill, what should have happened? Who should have paid? Do I have a right to live my own life - meaning take any risk I choose, and do as I please - or don't I? Is this another seat belt law? Compulsory liability insurance? Tell me - if everyone is so damned interested in my safety and good health, why is the only national health insurance plan - "Medicare" - really a plan to insure doctors and "health care providers" (after all, they get paid; the patient still gets a staggering bill) for me? Why is my social security the pittance it is, and in danger of evaporating? And, in this nation of benefactors and do-gooders, why are the borders open to every murderous skunk any nation wants to rid itself of (like Posada-Carriles, the Cuban "freedom fighter"). Why am I not required to carry a sidearm? In 1978, the US government in its IRS avatar destroyed his business and family. In 1985, when he had recovered and remarried, they did it all again, this time driving a teenage son to three attempts at suicide. A war ensued, and when von Luebbert counterattacked federal murder attempts with electronic and personal surveillance proving massive governmental crime, a US District Court protected their federal empoyers by ruling his records exempted under the Freedom of Information Act by the national secrets exemption. US Senators and national media forwarded proof of federal crime like mayhem, murder, rape, and extortion to commit rape protected their masters by concealment of the evidence and personal silence. Protected still by evidence of federal crime, together with the fact of large numbers of remaining witnesses available for subpoena, von Luebbert lives mostly in the wild in Texas and states where concealed handgun laws make it possible for him to defend himself with lethal force. He is also a sixth degree black belt and three time national judo champion.
