May 26, 2005 Runway Bride, Jennifer Wilbanks, is the runaway winner of the fourth season of the hit show "American Idol." In the season finale of the talent show, Wilbanks beat out rocker Bo Bice. Wilbanks' singing style leans toward melodramatic pop, while Bice was more of a Southern-rock singer. Wilbanks' official prize is a recording contract, although its believed she also was awarded an endorsement deal by Nike. Bo protested that he never had a chance of winning because Wilbanks was receiving coaching from Idol judge Paula Abdul. Wilbanks admitted that on more than one occasion she had a threesome with Paula Abdul and an unidentified Hispanic male. Paula Abdul insisted that she would never sleep with a contestant, but she was heard muttering to herself, "Oh, my God, Bo is furious about losing, I guess he ain't gonna wanna get freaky with me." It's impossible to tell if Wilbanks was surprised about winning the Idol contest, because she always has a wide-eyed look of surprise. Members of the media were unable to interview Wilbanks, she ran away immediately after she was announced as the winner. She was last seen hopping on a bus to Las Vegas. ------------ About the author: Robert Paul Reyes is a columnist for the Lynchburg Ledger.
