Christians Are Not A Bunch Of Ignorant Idiots

By Darrel Robert Day Jr.

Well, just when I thought it was safe to come out of the water, along comes another brave person. One who has so much confidence or such a huge ammount of fire insurance that he isn't worried about burning in the fires of hell. I read some of these articles and most of the time, I just stay away from them. Because I don't have answers? No, not really. I am very well versed and scolared in the bible. I stay away from them because to argue scripture is the same as to argue politics. Both come down to each persons opinion and neither is likely to budge much.

However, now and then a writer comes along that just hits me the wrong way and away I go. That very article came up titled "Who wrote the bible." I am not going to preach to anyone here, nor am I going to do an outline or full layout of the bible. A great many here have already done so on the Pro and Con side of "God." What I will do is ask that if you are going to write about the bible, at least be a little acurate and don't toss some lame ideal our way. The first five books of the bible were placed in the Ark of the Covenant by Moses. They told the story from Adam to the going down into Canaan and settling on the River Jordon. These people did NOT come from a tiny insignificant place as Isreal has never really been small nor insignificant. Egypt was well established as a strong hold dwelling also. As far as the people making up scriptures along the way to compensate for their lack of military strength, I say Hmmmmmm???? You better go back and do a little more homework. The Isrealites were then and are today a powerful strong people.

Jumping ahead as it was stated in the article, you should study up on Paul also. Paul was a man that had power and his job was to put Jews and followers of Jesus to death. Paul did Not come up with heaven and hell. Through your speed reading Keith, you missed the part that said and God created the heavens and the earth. You also missed Jesus' walk through hell long before Paul came along.

Perhaps before you write another article about something as well read and towards people that are well versed in the scriptures, you might want to read it yourself. The bible certainly did not fall from heaven nor did God take pen in hand and dip it in the ocean. Please don't assume that we that call ourselves Christians are a bunch of ignorant idiots that think anything of the sort. We do however believe that God reached down his mighty hand and touched the hearts of men such as Samson, Daniel, Joseph, King David, Moses, Job, Jacob, Peter, James, Paul and John the Baptist. He touched their hearts so that man would come to know him as the creator of all we see. That man would love him and worship him and believe in him.

You make a joke of all you said at the end of your article by asking if you have cleared things up for us "boys and girls." While you are trying real hard to "teach" us about who invented all of these "SO called beliefs", imagine just for a second that you are wrong!!! If you wish to feel this way to yourself, so be it. But bare in mind that IF, I say IF you happen to be wrong... I am glad that it will be you standing before our Father God explaining to him how you so proudly led others in the way of non believing. And think about this for a moment... If I happen to be wrong about what I believe then the worst that will happen is I die and lay in the ground for all of eternity. You on the other hand will NOT be so lucky "IF" you are wrong.

The bible was indeed penned by men as you say it was. But the words and teachings were written in the hearts of man by God. How do I know this to be so...?? Because my Father God in Heaven and his son, that lives with in my soul told me so. And THAT is good enough for me...
