Mar. 29, 2005 1683: Christianity faces its gravest threat as the Turkish army storms through southern Europe forcing all nations under Muslim rule. After years of invasion, the Turks have finally entered Austria and have surrounded the city of Vienna. The Battle of Vienna warns that the fall of the city will open the door to the rest of Europe and to the heart of Christianity itself. Jan Sobieski, Poland’s Greatest King and leader of the mighty Hussars, takes it upon himself to liberate the captured city. The war is seen through the eyes of one peasant boy as he is called to defend his faith. The story is a mix between historical fact and fiction, seen through the eyes of fictional as well as historical characters. Although the story puts emphasis on the glory of war, it also pays much attention to character development and interaction, philosophical thought, and an intellectual plot line.
