Mar. 24, 2005 Just when you thought it was safe... another article surfaces on controversial publisher, PublishAmerica. But as previously promised, as per a piece I posted to this site a few months ago, here's the scoop! To make a long story short, a few months ago, while surfing the Web, I came across a listing for PublishAmerica. I was initially intrigued because no money was requested, and their site was professionally presented. Upon doing a little more homework, I also discovered, via writers' bulletin boards and a few zines, that this publisher was plagued with both good and bad press? Being an independent thinker, and having nothing to lose (financially), I decided to submit my manuscript. Boy, am I glad I did! Contrary to popular opinion, I am not a novice, nor are the many authors who chose P.A. for representation. In fact, any google search of my name, will reveal that I am highly published and regularly paid for my work. However, having degrees in business as well, I realized the chances of having poetry published via the traditional publishing route were slim. For the record, they were very professional, my book was produced in a quality manner, and the cover design was appealing and awesome! I have absolutely no idea how many books will sell, but for certain, its a project that I can take pride in for years to come! In fact, I am at work on my next book to be published with P.A. soon! For naysayers, please purchase a copy and tell me what you think. Put your money where your mouth is. I also highly recommend Michelle True's books as well (also a P.A. author). ------------ About the author: Jennifer Brown Banks is an award-winning poet and popular feature writer. She is the founder and president of Poets United to Advance the Arts. Her new book of poetry, "A Paradox in Pink" is now available. br> Email: jenniferwriter@yahoo.com Tell a friend about this site! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com and are not allowed to be posted on other websites.
