Mar. 6, 2005 Johanna Lindsey is the best romance novel writer out there. Don't take my word for it, go out and pick up one of her many books still in print at a local book stores. If you want cheaper prices, her books fill used book store shelves beside Heather Graham, Amanda Ashley, and other good romance writers. Her first book released in the 1970's, Captive Bride, gets the imagination to bloom. It's a book about a woman who turned down her suiter at a fancy ball. In turn, he kidnapped her and took her to live in the middle east with his father's nomadic tribe. The couple struggle through differences and attraction. The books happy ending makes it worth the read. Her character development and struggles between her lead characters, make a person want to turn the page. The need is to find out if the character's will find love with each other. Of course, I have to admit a romance novel is a fairy tale. At least these fairy tales come true. Some of her books are formed through family lines, such as her Malory series, which started with, Love Only Once. This book is about a young woman getting ready for her first season (A young girl goes to parties looking for marriage), but she gets kidnapped by a man that could be considered a horrible Rake (A man who loves women and not afriad to flaunt it). He did this as a mistake because he origanally wanted to kidnap his mistress. She falls for him instantly and through out the book trys to convince him that he wants her. She succeeds. The Malory series started with a girl, but follows her Rakish uncles and their path towards being caught by true love. Each novel is different, which is excellent because some series' I have read have by other authors use the same character, same plots, and different setting. Johanna Lindsey is the best romance writer out there. She has published over twenty-five novels over a long career. Please read her work and enjoy! ------------ About the author: Being a full time writer is the hardest job that I have tried. I have written two books that are currently not published because the company that did publish them went out of business. I have written three childrens books and am currently in the process of finishing my third novel. Please write me with any thought that comes to mind about my columns or anything else, opinions are appreciated.
