June 29, 2005 Mr. Reyes, Your comments about the Natalee Holloway disappearance have been spot-on. The United States has age restrictions on drinking and gambling for a reason: our society deemed these activities to be unhealthy for children after seeing too many young people die in alcohol-related tragedies. Our nation's high schools have dress codes, teen girls should not wander the streets alone. Add booze to the mix and it's a recipe for disaster whether it's at Daytona Beach or an island in the Caribbean. These senior class trips are now heading to the Caribbean and Mexico because of increased enforcement in the U.S. Aruba's tourism is targetted to adults, not children. The sad reality is that Holloway's parents allowed her to trot off to a foreign country to engage in high-risk activities that are illegal in the United States. Her family does bear some responsibility. ------------ Email Terri: Tjgh3@aol.com Tell a friend about this site! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com.
