June 29, 2005 Dear readers, fellow columnists, loyal supporters, friendly and unfriendly detractors. My name is Michelle Malsbury [with two M's] I semi-regularly write articles for Useless Knowledge on-line web magazine. I've had the good fortune through this venue to meet and make friends with many interesting people with differing viewpoints. Maybe we haven't always agreed with everything each us writes, we're able to look past differences in topics and respect the other persons views because We respect the others right to voice their opinions. I've been blessed to have so many good friends I meet through Useless Knowledge, [you know who you are] special people in their own right I would like to take this moment to thank all of you for your e-mails, book purchases, and exchange of viewpoints. Many of my topics are easily debatable because they are largely politically. They express deeply held convictions. I hold no personal animosity for George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, or other members of the presidents group. I just don't agree with them politically. If my words are harsh, politics is a harsh area to get involved in, a girl has to keep up of never be heard. I'm neither Anti-Semitic, homophobic, racist, bigoted, Anti-American, stupid, childish or any of those things the sophomoric hate mongers would like the reader to believe of me. As one friend put it, I'm a woman with many interests. That seems to cut to the core of some of the more macho-men out there. I'm not sure if it's just plain chauvinism, or the lack of confidence in their own ability to compete. Whatever those self-proclaimed web police think. I've made many good friends in my association with Useless Knowledge. I continually receive e-mails from fellow columnists and readers, they express both pro and con. I've had some success selling my books because of Useless Knowledge. As long as the public judges me well I could care less what some self-proclaimed pseudo-intellectuals think. I would point out just because articles are posted doesn't mean anyone is reading them. Again I thank those who supported me when I was unjustly attacked. And a special thanks to our Editor. ------------ About the author: Michelle Malsbury was born and raised in Champaign, Illinois. She attended Parkland College and the University of Illinois before graduating from the University of Phoenix with her degree in Business Management. Currently she is working on her master’s degree in Organizational Management while concurrently pursuing her lofty writing ambitions. Ms. Malsbury moved to south Florida in 1983 and resides between the Keys and Apalachicola, allowing her to experience the seasonal fluctuations between the southernmost and nearly northernmost beauty in the state of Florida. Travels have taken her from Europe through the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, and across much of the United States. Michelle has been a bartender, real estate agent, flight attendant, beauty contestant, yacht broker, and commodities broker over the years, but writing is her passion. She enjoys outdoor activities like sailing, waterskiing, hiking, bike riding, working out, and fishing as well as reading, music, theatre, playing with her two amusing pets (Abu Chez, her 6 year old Australian Blue Heeler and Zack, her two year old yellow tabby cat) and writing. Michelle is a regular featured author on the web site Useless-Knowledge.com and enjoys exchanging points of view with her comrades there. “Three Years With Adonis” is the first to be published of several books that she has written.
