June 29, 2005 I’d intended to leave the subject of the unmitigated attack on Michelle alone. I had my say in an earlier article that was enough for me. The e-mail started pouring in many were appalled at the attack on Michelle. They congratulated me for standing up for a fellow columnist. Others suggested I treat the article Ron Lewis wrote the same way many want to treat the war on terror, [ignore it and eventually it’ll go away.] Two Useless Knowledge columnists wrote article in defense of Michelle. Michael John McCrae, a conservative defending a liberal that says a lot about Mac. Claxton Graham, a liberal defending a couple of conservatives, [Mac and Myself.] as well as defending Michelle that speaks volumes about Claxton. What does this tell us about people? It says there’re some stand-up guys and girls who go to the matt for justice and fair play. It tells us there are others who are willing to watch and not get involved. Finally, it tells us there’re those who feel destined to rule whatever little world they can capture with their limited abilities. They’re in a sense bottom feeders in fishing terms. Ron Lewis and others who write for Useless Knowledge seem to think their destined to command the truth police. These self-proclaimed truth squads lose sight of the fact no one intelligent enough to write articles or read articles needs being told how to think. I wouldn’t equate these people to Al Qaeda or the Taliban, their not that radical. I will equate them to Muslim Clerics who tell everyone how and when to think. Ron Lewis suggested someone must get the truth out. If no one does, if these opinions go unanswered what will happen? I think Ron Lewis and his truth squads have created a roll where no need exists, I’ve never understood why some people take pleasure in denigrating others. Is it lack of self-confidence? What makes them do these things, how do they justify what they do? Even more interesting is why we respond to such garbage? To those who defended and supported Michelle I congratulate you. You defended us all in a way. I was the target yesterday, Michelle today, who will be the target tomorrow? ------------ About the author: Ken Hughes is prone to an occasional grammatical error and an occasional misspelled word.
