How Did You Guys Get Pink Floyd To Reunite?

By Stan Grimes
June 19, 2005

To say that I am jealous of the U. K. at this moment would be an understatement. How did you guys get Pink Floyd to reunite? Roger Waters and Gilmore? Wow. I do hope a live album comes out of their Live 8 concert. Man, I miss that group. I have almost all of their CDs. I listen to them daily and find survival with out them, and a bag of Cheetos nearly impossible. My wife loves them and my dog finds their music quite soothing when eating her kibbles.

Why do I find them so great? Their music is just as vital and mind bending today as it was twenty years ago. Now, when I say mind bending, I’m not referring to the use of the wild reefer that many associate with the group’s music. I’m talking, instead, about the ability of their music to give flight to thought, to thinking, meditation if you will. They are music genii. The thought of their music makes me “comfortably numb.”

There was a time in my life that I smoked the wild wacky tobaccy, but much like my mentor, Bill Clinton, I never inhaled. Also, like Bill, I never had sex with Meg Ryan. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Although, Meg is quite interested in me, I am sure of it. Meg, don’t forget to burn that dress you had on the other night. Where’s my cigar? I’m having nicotine moment.

I’ve been sitting back and reading U-K articles. It’s great entertainment. Yes sir, nothing like an ice-cold beer and the likes of Skip Toomaloo, Michael John McCrae, Judy Ramsook, Fredrick Smith, Timothy Stelly, and Kaycee Nilson (to name a few). I would be remiss to include Thomas Keyes and…well…uh…even Ken Hughes (man, that was hard to say).

I have had a bit of writer’s block going on lately. It’s difficult to think of new things to write about. I get tired of writing about Iraq, George W. Bush, and the stringent right-wingers. It all seems so pathetic sometimes. I need Prozac. I think I have a case of reality blues, but reading everyone on U-K gives me a boost…even…uh…well…I’m not going to say it again. Have a nice Father’s Day if this is published on time. If not, have a nice Monday.
