June 16, 2005 As I get thinking about Iraq, I ask myself a number of questions, is an Arab worth 3000-American lives, and it is always: no way. Matter of fact, one American life, is worth more than 3000-Arab lives to my way of thinking. I’ll connect this in a moment. Is the story of Mohammed worth reading? Not really, I’ve read so much on him, its boring, if not chilling at times. I think I liked the story of his old wife better, she had more sense; the rest is tedious, self-clashing; so I got thinking, can Mohammad cure alcoholism? No way, can Jesus, he has, he did; seeing is believing, so they say. So I eliminated the Muslim faith to no more than an agnostic view. But back to Iraq and Susan Sarandon, the mother goat of all goats; and her friend, Riverbend. She’s the secret friend that lives in Baghdad and writes reports on how she is living, a diary of sorts. Trying to be another Ann Frank I think, or some newspaper gimmick; Susan has fallen for it, unless she’s behind this attention-grabber, which I’d not put it past her. Anyhow, we got an expert reporter in Baghdad that just happens to be on bin Laden’s side of the fence I fear, and is trying to beguile all with the bad news on how bad Americans are. She cuts America down like a butcher cuts up a pork roast; she doesn’t like the fact we are still there, she hates us for being in Iraq, for setting the country free; for stopping the killing in Kuwait; for freeing the Kurds of Saddem’s madmen, whom gassed them to death. She says it was better before the two wars in Iraq. Perhaps for her it was, but not for anyone else; perchance she was on Saddam’s payroll. She talks about not having lights or electricity for a week or two, or the gas pumps are not working today; all because the Americans can’t work fast enough. I thought we were in a war, and in a war, after victory, we have no obligation to transform their country into another Hawaii. It is the kindness of the American tax payer that does or does not allow this. She should go talk to some of the Kurds, their families, and the Kuwait’s and see if they think the way she does; would they want him back? We all know Clinton knew about the Weapons of Mass Destruction, as did several other countries, and I know this is old, but for some odd reason, everyone seems to think it was a Bush Phenomena, when in essence, had we not stepped in, like a child, Saddam most likely would have created what he was trying to create a nice little bomb, that would tare the skin off a million people in an American city. A lot of maybes I know, but it is better than another 9/11. —That leads me to thinking, if I could vote, I would vote for Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani (I hope I got the spelling correct on his name); I’d vote for him to be president of Iran; he’s the only one that doesn’t have a wish list for an atomic bomb. He is expected to run a close race, but I’m not sure what close means in Iran. —On another note, I hope Wolfgang Schauble, becomes the leader of Germany, should he, we Americans do not have to worry about China getting our technology to bomb the crap out of Taiwan (although they got 700-missiles pointed at them already, or is it 900, one or the other), as the EU would love to sell it to them. He has so stated, He’d not do that without our blessings, a German that really likes us, thank God. And he stated he was not in favor of creating an EU to counterbalance the US, but rather, to shift back to friendly relations, with us, and work with us, not against us. Maybe there’s some hope out there. ------------ About the author: Mr. Siluk is a world traveler, a lover of the mysteries around the world, and has visit many World Heritage Sites, his most recent being Easter Island, the Galapagos and Mesa Verde.
