June 11, 2005 Men who wear make-up are considered sexy. Men such as Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Marshall Mathers and other men who are considered sexy by the purchasing public, wear make-up for their jobs. Are they truly sexy? Or is it just the illusion of contouring and blushes that make these men appealing. I think that they do their jobs well. The job of an entertainer is to give a few hours or minutes of distraction to a bored public. These men do a job. They put on their faces and attack the world with smiles and waves. When they go home, they do what everybody else does, try to live a comfortable life on the income they generate. The public persona, the relationships, and things the public demands to know about these men is how they sell the products they represent. A new movie, a charity endorsement, and a new product such as a CD needs promotion. These men know how to use make-up, smiles and illusions to get their faces out in the public, so we the consumer purchase the products. Back to my original question: Are these men, men who wear make-up truly sexy? Yes and no. They are sexy because of the attitudes they convey. The confidence, the bravado and that something special that these men have flowing from every pour make them appealing to the opposite sex and sometimes the same sex. It is truly not their faces that generate the attention. It is their attitudes. Make-up with men, as with women, makes a person look better. An entertainer uses make up for the cameras. Make-up does not make the person who they are, it is just a tool to help sell their next product.
Men who wear make-up are not the most appealing men in
the world. There are sexy men everywhere. Men who
support families, men who save lives, men who some
people would not notice, and men who defend our
freedoms people need to see those men too.
