June 6, 2005 I was in Egypt in 1998, met a few, and only a few, real good Egyptian folks, some real nasty rotten apples there, or figs, however you like your fruit. I was glad to get the heck out of town after week. But I see now they are under a shadow of democracy, I am most happy for them. The group that goes by the name “Kefaya,” meaning to my understanding, ‘Enough,’ which means this group has had enough of the bull crap they’ve been handed for 5000-years. Oh well, a late bloomer, but they are starting to wakeup. Good for them. They are under this umbrella of fixed elections for 30-years, thus, the power going to: where everyone knows it’s going to go, vote or no vote. And since the United States, and the United Nations and all of Western Europe stands by and watches, and says nothing, the group figured it is now or never. The ‘Brotherhood,’ is coming. I think 2005, will be the test year for Egypt; to see if they got backbone or are spineless. I give a lot of praise to this new group, it is hard to come out and face the devil on his own turf; but we are watching it happen. They want democratic air to circulate in their country, and I can’t blame them, I mean they pay for the streets to be paved; well, most of the streets, we’ve given them a little charity along the way, a few billion here and there to like us, but we do that for the PLO [1/2 billion-a year], and Israel [4-billion], and we still pay Europe to like us [40-billion]; and the UN [21-billion]. I mean, Egypt only gets a lousy 9-billion; and etcetera ……………….! But back to the ‘Brotherhood,’ as I was saying before, 2005 will be the year I do believe that we will see the test of reality in Egypt, is the will stronger than the sword? Or do the Egyptians continue to be slaves to their masters (not sure if this is a question or a statement, or a statement-question). ------------ About the author: Mr. Siluk is a world traveler, a lover of the mysteries around the world, and has visit many World Heritage Sites, his most recent being Easter Island, the Galapagos and Mesa Verde.
