July 30, 2005 So you’re busy living your life and are pleased with your accomplishments so far when a friend from the not too distant past drops in to pay a visit. And although it had not occurred to you before or bothered you, something tugs at your nerve when your friend says something like, don’t you ever get bored. Now keep in mind, before this visit from your friend, you were fine. But the moment he/she leaves, his/her words start having an effect on you. Like maybe you will suddenly take a look around you. And so what if it’s been a while since your last social outing with that date, or maybe you’re still recovering from a recent break up. Well, apparently there are some people in our midst who seem to think that unless you are out galavanting every night of the week, you are living a rather boring life. And as your friend’s words keep gnawing at you, you grab your keys, get into your car and go somewhere, even if it’s down to the nearest retail outlet to kind of clear your head. And as you examine your ‘boring life’ you think to yourself it’s not so bad. For you are doing the things you are happy with and so is your friend whose visit may have awakened you from some sort of slumber. And remember, just because your calendar isn’t filled or highlighted with activities, doesn’t mean that your life is boring or empty. It will pick up again when you think you are ready.
