July 27, 2005 I had to laugh the other day while watching CNN. One of commentators made reference to John Kerry being in Paris to watch Lance Armstrong win his seventh Tour De France. He (and I paraphrase) said that it gives you an example of John Kerry’s character versus our beloved George W. Bush’s character. George, of course, was considered by the biased reporter to be the all-American type because he owned the Texas Rangers’ professional baseball team. That shows character? John Kerry was characterized as a real twit for watching a bicycle race…duh. Bicycle racing is one of the most, if not the most, grueling sports in existence. Lance Armstrong is arguably one of the greatest athletes in the world. His stamina is amazing. His lung capacity is amazing, except for a couple of columnists on Useless Knowledge Magazine. He is simply an amazing athlete.
I’m sure Lance doesn’t have the ability to fly planes like our president (he did fly one didn’t he?), but I’m sure the champion bike racer could learn how. After all, he is a hero and he has overcome many adversities. I figure in about twenty years we will have President Armstrong. I just hope he doesn’t lose his senses and join the Republican ticket; although, I hear he lists to the right while riding his bike. He unfortunately reminds me of our president in one sense. He is lacking a testicle, but that is one more than George has.
