July 21, 2005 It seems that the World Wrestling Entertainment just keeps burying themselves over and over again. This week it is no different. I get disappointed every time I hear that the WWE screwed themselves again. The WWE finally took my advice and brought back Matt Hardy for a "shoot" with Edge. Just when I thought they were getting it right, they got it wrong. The writers just can’t seem to write good storylines for the WWE. Everything was perfect except for one thing. Matt Hardy opening his mouth too much. On RAW two weeks ago, Matt Hardy appeared backstage and attacked Edge and told the WWE that they can kiss his "butt". Matt was arrested and taken away. IT was obvious that this was a "work" not a shoot, but it didn’t matter, Matt Hardy was going after Edge, Lita, and the WWE. Here is where it baffled me, and I don’t think it was Hardy’s fault, I believe he was told this; Hardy went to his website an hour after RAW was over and said that it was a shoot and that he was really arrested. That’s funny, I didn’t know that jail cells had complimentary laptops. The WWE writers screwed up again, because I believe they told or ordered Matt to say this on his website. How do I know? Because secretly Matt Hardy had really told his fans on his website that it was indeed a work and that in reality he’s enjoying "swimming with the sharks" again. Unfortunately for Lita she doesn’t enjoy her life being the spotlight, and now she will forever be deemed as a "slut" by the fans of wrestling. If that wasn’t enough for Vince to shed a few pounds of stress over, Earl Hebner, senior referee that has been THE referee in the WWE for the past 20 plus years, was FIRED from the WWE due to Earl Hebner being "unfaithful" to Vince. Wow, Vince, you couldn’t trust Earl Hebner? Did history slip your mind? Remember it was Earl that "screwed over" Bret Hart in Montreal. "Earl swore to his kids that he wouldn’t let me down"- Bret Hart. Despite that Vince and Earl, not sure about Shawn, had their hand in the demise of Bret Hart’s WWE career, Bret has always had the "if they will do it with you, they will do it to you" theory with Vince and Earl. Guess what? Bret Hart was right. Earl screwed over Vince out of merchandise money; therefore, Vince can now figure that he CAN’T trust anyone, not even his closest confidant. Let’s continue. WWE Smackdown has been under some massive controversy when it came to Muhammed Hassan, an Arabic-American wrestler that uses blatant and obvious racist issues. The WWE has always tried to push the envelope of racism, you wonder if Vince is a racist himself. This time, Vince has brought in Hassan, who is a great wrestler that can really work the character. Recently, Hassan was feuding with the Undertaker, and after the Undertaker took out Daviri, one of Hassan’s comrades, men in black hoods came in and choked out the Undertaker. Afterwards, they all surrounded the Undertaker in a beheaded fashion with Hassan raising his arms in the air and saying "Praise Allah". If this wasn’t offensive enough, the day that this was aired on national television was July 7th, the same day as the London bomb attacks. NICE MOVE, VINCE! Not only was the segment offensive, but UPN, the home of Smackdown, has DEMANDED that Muhammed Hassan and anything affiliated with Hassan be TAKEN OFF of Smackdown. Wow, someone told Vince McMahon what to do? You’re losing it, Vince. Let’s move on. This past RAW sucked. With only 4 matches and the rest a bunch of nonsense, RAW and the WWE is going through a downward spiral. However, Vince had better wake-up and realize that TNA, another wrestling company, has signed on with Spike TV to replace the WWE. How sad is that? Now next week on RAW Vince is having Cena and Jericho play band for band. WHY!? WE DON’T WANT TO HEAR MUSIC, WE WANT WRESTLING! I love how Vince is offering something, and NOT giving it to the fans. Not only is the battle of the bands going to suck, but you know there is going to be another boring segment about the diva search that Vince is forking a cool quarter of a million dollars on. Despite that the fans have made their statement about how they feel about the diva search. BORING! And let’s not forget another boring Kane vs. Edge match, this time a stretcher match. Ooooohhh, what’s next? Kane vs. Edge in a gravy bowl match on Heat? Kane vs. Edge in a pillow fight at SummerSlam? I know, Kane vs. Edge in an Air Hockey Match so extreme that only ECWWE can produce it. Give me a break, MOVE ON! Vince is getting desperate, you can tell, he brought back Hulk Hogan for another match. Give it up, Vince, let Hogan go. Of course there were more cuts from the WWE, like Charlie Haas, and Jackie Gayda, but I get the feeling that there will be more cuts, and to be honest I hope one of them is Torrie Wilson. Talk about a useless blonde, she is THAT, a useless blonde. Vince’s "power" is slipping away, and it’s just a matter of time before the WWE will close their doors and forever just be a memory.
