Ten Thousand Al Queda Supporters Tolerated In England

By Dan Shanefield
July 12, 2005

The New York Times of July 10th had a long news article on page 1, which reported the fantastic tolerance of Muslim extremists in London. The reporters said that more than 10,000 Al Queda supporters are allowed to live in Britain. All sorts of aggression-advocacy is allowed, in mosque sermons, newspapers, and radio and TV programs.

The tolerated extremists include many who have been indicted for terrorist crimes (or even convicted) in the U.S., Spain, and also Muslim countries like Morocco and Jordan. The British government, because ot "its deep tradition of civil liberties and protection of political activists," refuses to extradite such people to the countries that convicted them. One of the many examples who were named in the article is Sheik Omar Bakri Mohammed, who preaches violence against westerners but lives on his welfare payments in London.

In his July 11th article in Useless-Knowledge ("The Fourth American Revolution"), Dr. Brooks Mick said that Muslim extremists were allowed to openly advocate hatred, in several "Old European" cities such as London. The New York Times report certainly does agree with that statement.

This whole thing seems like a bad dream repeated, when we recall Sir Neville Chamberlain's appeasment of the first Nazi conquests, just prior to World War II. Allowing such aggressors to build up strength is always a mistake, if you have a chance to stop them at an early stage.
