Truer words were never spoken, but that statement doesn’t hold water in the world of professional wrestling. Professional Wrestling used to be a hot commodity during the 80's and 90's, but when the turn of the 21st century came the wrestling empire crumbled and all that is left is a shadow of what used to be the WWF, World Wrestling Federation. I have written column after column after column hoping that someone in the WWE would take my articles serious about how the company will go belly up if they don’t start changing their way of working. Alas, no one has apparently read my articles either that or not taking my articles serious. However, I wasn’t wrong, I was right. Do I take all the credit? No, because it’s painfully obvious that the WWE is a sinking ship. In the past 24 hours the WWE has released 21 wrestlers which are a huge number of superstars that now have no job, no money, and no way of getting another job unless they go to the other sinking ship TNA. Both companies are in dire need of a pick me up by the fans, and quite frankly both are not getting it. While it may be obvious to all of us what wrestlers were released by the WWE, some was midcard to no card status, but these releases just prove my point that Vince is losing money and losing money fast. While the numbers may seem that the WWE doesn’t have anything to worry about, they do have a lot to worry about. Where last year the WWE was getting $.70 share value, now their share value is $.23. Vince has a lot to worry about when it comes to selling his product. Because his company had a 53 cent share drop within just one year. The WWE’s FCF-Free Cash Flow-is down by 50%, which is hurting the WWE big time and thus the releases of wrestlers had to take place. Source: 1wrestling.com What would make the WWE’s profits so low? Isn’t it obvious? THERE IS NO WRESTLING ON WWE! Need I remind you that the ECW One Night Stand was so huge that it came close to beating WrestleMania 21 if it didn’t already. Why, because ECW was "real" wrestling, shoot promos, good long matches with different styles that everyone can enjoy. What does WWE Wrestling have to offer? Women falling out of their tops, an afro wearing so-so wrestler saying he wants to bang Hulk Hogan’s daughter, and what happened to the heat between Edge and Lita? Are we going to see Matt Hardy? The only good thing that Vince has done on RAW which was incredibly shocking is the turn heel of Shawn Michaels which put a huge smile on my face, because Shawn is way better as a heel than a face. GOOD JOB, VINCE! Do I believe that the WWE will bounce back from this? Maybe, but here is what Vince is going to have to do. 1. Don’t let the fire go out between Lita and Edge. They have so much heat on them that it’s not funny, keep it up, it’s working. And when the timing is right bring back Matt Hardy for a Hardy vs. Edge match, trust me your sells will skyrocket. Besides, you owe to Hardy from the firing of him over an injury. 2. Having Batista going to SD was a great idea, because it broke the boring feud between he and HHH. Cena is a great champion. He’s matured and really worked his character. Feed Cena to people like Jericho, those that can work with him, keep Triple H away from the title for a while, let him work with others and get them ready to be future superstars. 3. Once again, NO MORE DIVAS SEARCHES! I think if Vince was smart he would give what the fans wants, I think he is doing it, but if he ever thinks that his company can’t go under he should check his wallet and see that moths are the only thing coming out of it. ------------ About the author Eric Schomburg: Useless-Knowledge Columnist of the year 2004.
