Jan. 30, 2005 Of course I know that smoking is a terrible, smelly, and unhealthy habit. The best advise is to never start. Once you do, well, life changes. When you wake up in the morning you will sit down, relax and have a cup of coffee because you smoke. A smoker always gives themselves an extra fifteen minutes in the morning. There's time to be free of stress. If you also eat breakfast you have another smoke after you've eaten. It gives you that little extra time to properly digest before becoming active. Now you get in your car to go off to work and you light up again. The morning drive can be so hectic but you're okay, because you're taking deep breathes. It settles and composes you. Now you're at work and before you go in you stop for another smoke. You're always on time because you know you're going to have a smoke before you go in. You take these minutes to think over the day before you, what must be done, what should be done. Taking that little extra time for planning can make the whole day go smoother. By ten o'clock you've got your area under control and things are running and it's time to get away from the office politics and relax. You go outside and have a smoke. Recharged you enter and get on with it. Others are starting to drag but you're at full speed. You have taken the time to recharge in an orderly, efficient manner. Others just look ragged and uncomfortable. When lunch comes around you once again get out of the office and have a smoke on your way to a restaurant or cafeteria. Some of your associates are so picky about what they eat but you don't have that problem. Because you smoke you're not as afflicted by the nuances of taste and therefore pretty much any restaurant is fine and you can eat without the level of disappointment that so seems to bother your companions. After lunch you break away from your associates for an after dining smoke. While they try to find a way to relax in the short amount of time remaining you get a few moments to yourself. No one is bothering you with idle chatter, you're ready for the second half. As the workday begins to drag you'll take another break or maybe two and go outside for some air. Again you'll be breaking in an orderly, efficient manner. You'll be able to recharge. Most of your office mates will starting their usual mantra of complaints but you'll have taken the time to relax and let the stress of the workaday world slide off your shoulders. You'll be able to give your associates encouragement and they will love you for it. Finally, the workday is done and you're back in your car heading home. The smog and pollution outside is clearly visible but you can relax knowing that the air you breath is filtered. Now that you're home you partner and you can get together and have a smoke. You are so lucky that you and your partner take the time each day to relax and talk to one another. So many people just don't talk anymore. Indeed, you are one of the lucky ones. ------------ Email John Dale Eyler: john@thinkdebate.com Tell a friend about this site! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com and are not allowed to be posted on other websites.
