Jan. 28, 2005 Your best friend has just told you that he/she is single again due their recent break up with that significant other. But as he/she unloads their version of how the break up came about, you may wonder, if there are two sides to every story, howcome most of us just hear one side? That side being the one your friend has just told you while the other half of the now defunct relationship relays the events to his/her friends, you know, the ones they had before and during the relationship with your friend. As you consider the faults of your friend's former romantic liason, you are amazed because when things were going well, that person seemed so perfect, faults excluded. But another group of persons who are also surprised are the friends of your friend's ex because they also had the impression that your friend was without flaws. The only way you will probably hear the other side of what occurred, providing of course that you care to, is if you were to probably have a chance encounter when your friend, the one whose version you have heard about, is not with you. If this occurs, what you now have is both sides of the story, and as you weigh the matter in your mind, providing that you care enough to do that, you become surprised all over again, for now you are aware of all the problems your friend gave this person, things that may have led to the break up, of course. Regardless, depending on how long it takes your friend to recover from the recent absence of romantic love, he/she may come to you for comfort and when that happens, just listen. Lend your ears to him/her in their time of need, for that will aid greatly in the long run, or you could look at it this way, you got your friend back, at least until the next romantic association comes their way. ------------ About the author Judy Ramsook: My first book titled: "Karen's Adventure" which is about two young girls who go in search of their missing parents, is now available.
