George W. Bush Pledges To Withdraw Troops From Iraq

By Ken Hughes
Jan. 28, 2005

This is a story that appeared in the New York Times. At first I thought, he’s listening to Teddy again. Then I read the story. As usual the context in which it was said if far different than the statement it’s self. Headlines are very carefully crafted to get the readers attention. There’s the rub, most readers don’t go beyond the headline and the first few sentences of the article. Down deep below the fold, what the president really said comes out.

I can almost hear this reporter ask, “If the new Iraqi government asks us to leave what would you do”? Only then does the president say “If asked we leave” that’s very different from a declaration by the president we are leaving. This isn’t unusual, all to frequently the presidents quotes are mere answers to hypothec questions. The really hip-politician never answers a hypothetical question with anything other than a hypothetical answer. President Bush at times is gullible, being an honest man he assumes everyone is equally honest.

I think the best way to describe the Washington Media is they are flesh eating Paranoia’s, [Reporters] trained by man-eating Sharks [lawyers.] The dedicated to bringing truth to the masses, in recent years has become the Medias truth.

What the president said in this interview, and what’s been said in the past by members of his administration is when the new Iraq government is capable of self-protection we will leave. That’s very different from saying we are pulling out. President Bush’s statements have been consistent. What’s been inconsistent is the way they are reported.

When I saw that headline I thought [Dear God] please tell me the president isn’t caving-in to Teddy Kennedy. That’s not my George W. Bush. My George Bush creates a plan and follows through. My Gorge Bush though always polite never strays from his convictions. This is a very different George Bush than is portrayed by the Media and the Liberal left. They would have us believe the president is the devils own mother-in-law. While the dissenters pontificate the majority of America, Red State’s America keeps the faith, they believe in America as is. The average American feels comfortable with this president. Though they seldom express it the feeling is there.

The Liberal left would have us believe the country is on the brink of disaster. They bemoan the deficit, the trade imbalance, the cost of the war; all these things are with in a manageable range. They are simply distractions used by the Liberal left to scare the hell out of people.

America is doing just fine.
