Jan. 27, 2005 I game. I am a gamer. I am a female gamer. What does this mean? It means I like d-20 systems (d-20 is a 20 sided dice). I like developing characters and explore different worlds of possiblities. I like the thrill of the stories the DM (Dungeon Master: person in control of game) weaves for entertainment. Some of the gaming world has been shown in a bad light, such as a parent blaming her son's suicide on gaming (specifically Dungeons and Dragons). And other parents blaming the game for their children's lack of social skills. (I disagree with this, because to have a game a person should have a minimum of 4 players to start. Gaming is for intellectuals. It is imaginative play. Adults seem to think that imagination dies with childhood, but in a gamers life imagination is the key to playing a good game. Imagination is continually excercised in a game enviroment which leads to creative thought at work and home. If a person has not tried gaming, here is how to start. Being a female gamer is not very rare but I find that most of the people I play with are men. Men love the combat and honor codes that they can give their characters. Roleplaying, gaming, is a great form of entertainment. Try it once, and it will suck you in. ------------ About the author: Being a full time writer is the hardest job that I have tried.
