Jan. 26, 2005 I must admit I didn’t think Hillary Clinton would run for President in 2008. It looks like I was wrong. It looks as though she’s running as the [centrist candidate] what ever that is? I had several reasons to believe she wouldn’t give up her prestigious station as a Senator from the Great State of New York to become a mere president. Her senate term is up in 2006, if she runs for the senate again the question of her intentions for 2008 will certainly come up. I doubt she can waltz her way around that question. Only two presidents have come directly from Congress to the Presidency in the twentieth century, Harding, and Kennedy. Of the eighteen presidents in the twentieth century, only four have been true Easterners. Hillary can no longer claim Southern roots while she represents New York. You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can never deceive the voters for long. For Hillary to cover all her basis to run for president she’ll have to be a more prolific inventor than Thomas Edison. There are a lot of skeletons in the Clinton closet to be reburied before Hillary can come out a full fledged candidate for a presidential run. I believe in her heart Hillary is convinced whatever she tells the American people they will believe. Her new [ I’m not for an abortion but I’m for abortions ] isn’t being accepted by the Media very well. Without the mainstream media looking out for her, Hillary has lost the most important half of her support. Now and for the foreseeable future the media is looking out for themselves. The door marked [ media bias planning room, by invitation only] found in most of the print news rooms and the visual news rooms isn’t being taken lightly these days not many will venture in. The Liberal politicians are convinced they must change the red states to their way of thinking. That’s not going to happen. Hillary is out making conciliatory speeches professing to be one of us. It would be more believable if she were speaking to us. We can spot the liberal images of her entourage. They stand out like a Drag Queen at a Malibu beach party. For Hillary to win red states she has to get down and get her hands dirty, I doubt she will do that. The image-makers are already on the job. Hillary isn’t even trying to cover up the fact she being handled. Close scrutiny will tell you who the image-makers are and who the crowd is. The pundits [by their rhetoric] on the various television shows tells us who is supporting Hillary. Now we have a slow news period, Hillary is the news of the moment. That will change, soon Hillary will be delegated to the local weekly shopper for getting her message out. Four years and not having a clue as to what the issue will be is a dangerous plan. Staying cool and waiting would seem to me to be the best strategy. Her Hollywood friends should advise her of the art of exposure and the folly of the [dreaded over- exposure.] Considering we have an overly liberal congress [on both sides of the isle] Hillary hasn’t been all that bad. She’s a lot better than Robert Byrd, Teddy Kennedy, and Barbara Boxer. At least she isn’t drooling all over the Senate floor. Senators for life, Judges for Life, this policy was fine when they only lived to be 55 or so. Now they can be retrofitted to live for 100 years, the policy no longer makes sense. This is giving me a headache I need to take a nap. ------------ About the author: Ken Hughes is prone to grammatical error and occasional misspelled words.
