Jan. 8, 2005 Well, I think there is a lot to be said but I will make it as brief as my statements allow. I have been away for awhile, though I do come hear to read the "articles?" now and again. It is always a pleasure to read Stan Grimes and is nice to see him still posting here. I too have followed the Ron/ Judy/ Aaron saga, but from a distance, mind you. Rarely do I involve myself in soatter between writers... I use the word loosely here today. I slip over here from a site that I have found to be very homey, friendly and that offers encouragement and very constructive help to it's members. I do not use the words constructive critisimn because it is never in a critisizing manner that words are offered there. I have watched as the bantering has gone back and forth, from one cut to another. As I believe that we as authors have a doorway to touch peoples lives, I feel that we should take that priveledge and use it correctly. When a reader chooses to read what we have written, then it is just that. A priveledge that they have allowed our works into their homes and hearts. What they read in our words is a direct reflection of every author read. If what we say only tears down or undermines a writers ability to speak openly, then it serves no purpose in any way. What is happening here is not entertaining, nor is it constructive in the very least of ways. Agree to simply disagree, read and comment as you would like to have your works commented on and for goodness sakes, quit competing for first place in some imaginary status war that does not exist. Tsunami, world hunger, killing of babies, new books, brighter futures ahead, mass destruction of third worlds,a man that has no home... Wowwww!!!!! There are important issues facing our lives every single day. Perhaps your writing would be better placed and read if you turned your focus on what is really important today and tomorrow and for the rest of our lives. As for better editing... I think we simply need to see better writing. Fighting is NOT writing! It is simply the ability to puff ones chest out and see who can scream louder. Even the primates can do that. What they can not do is write good novels, or pen a poem that touches our lives. You, on the other hand CAN do those things. Take a minute, think a bit and move on. Enough is truly enough!!!!!!! I will take my leave now and give you a chance to reflect on these words. None meant to cut or degrade but hopefully to cause this fighting to cease. I will drop in from time to time to see if maybe the subjects are more in line with living today. You might want to look at a few other writers sites to see how they display themselves. Stan, it is always a pleasure my friend to see your writes and I will see you in that "Other" place... Darrel... ------------ About the author: My name is Darrel Day. I live in a small town in Iowa.
