Jan. 7, 2005 I supported John Kerry during this past election but I was never a Kerry fan – I was for the General – Wesley Clark - was that his name? I also was “an anybody but Bush person” so I would have voted for Mickey Mouse had he been on the ballot. I am not a flaming liberal. I do not look upon Michael Moore as a “flaming liberal”. In my book, he is merely an overweight, very wealthy, opportunist who at time-circumstance made a fortune from a Bush-trashing propaganda film. I really did like his film “Roger and Me” though, as I have family contacts in Flint, Michigan. I’m currently trying to wade through Kitty Kelly’s book on the Bush Family. I find her to be a bit too investigative, here, although I hear she always speaks well of me. I’m having a difficult time trying to figure out the Bush family tree and who is/was the biggest drunk and/or womanizer. After going through a third of the book I have also come to the conclusion that there really isn’t much difference between the Bush clan and the Kennedy clan. To start with, both dynasties got their social, political and economic standings during the Great Depression in much the same manner. To get on the serious side, the election is over and my party lost – Big Time! In trying to maintain his liberal image, Moore recently wrote a piece entitled “It’s Time To Stop Being Hit”. He assumes that most of us Democrats are “running on empty” and taking all sorts of abuse from the Republican victors. Not this moderate Demo! I’m not licking my wounds but I’m also not going to try to tilt windmills. I’m waiting for ’06 to come along to try to make changes in Congress. I made a prediction a few days after the election when 28 million Americans cast their ballots for George W. Bush. Those people made their choice. It is going to be those SAME PEOPLE who have to ride herd on the Texas cowboy whose roots are buried in Connecticut, Yale and his Skull & Bones buddies. The crunch is coming closer every day. I can’t do it. I’m the loser. I’m a Democrat. Already The Arizona Republic, one of The Bush League strongest supporters, is beginning to make waves. The January 6th editorial has the headline – “A Scandal In The Making?” Subhead: – OUR STAND: The White House should stop playing games with the federal budget. “If President Bush wishes to avoid one of those second-term scandals that seen to plague American presidents, he should not be so eager to create one. “Early reports on the president’s proposed budget, which is to arrive later this month, indicate that Bush plans to combine outrageous federal revenue projections with a glut of off- book spending. “If left unchallenged, the results may lead to not just jaw-dropping federal deficits.
