Banda Aceh [Tsunami - Sounds]

By Dennis L. Siluk
Jan. 5, 2005

The landscape is not quite the same the sky is just as blue, the sun as bright as blue and bright as other years— only the city now, is filled with tears.

Once dancing feet and laughing—rang here; once tourists came, with wonder and wealth now, there are only gloomful nights and days, and doors that rattle from—dead waves….

Windows, frames, all broken—open wide; rooms, reeking from ghouls inside— as trampling feet, of many, wonder by; comes twilight, so many here have died.

The streets, now made of weed-soaked sand, so many voices, heard weeping, like pests. Throughout the streets, sounds and sanities all waiting, for the return of laughter.
