Radio Station Rants

By Judy Ramsook
Feb. 28, 2005

Flipping through the various radio stations today in search of a song you really want to hear can indeed be an interesting experience, for there is a channel for each genre of music one can think of.

Station that plays today's hits: Why does '50 cent' want his dance partner to shake her a**, when most of the dance moves involve the movement of this portion of the body anyway? Catchy tune though.

Oldies station: Why was Elvis singing a song about 'Suspicion' when he was in love with one of the world's most beautiful women, 'Priscilla Presley?'

Country Station: Thank you, 'Terri Clark' for informing a portion of the listening population that 'Girls Lie Too.'

Classic Rock Station: Why does 'Billy Squier' sound like he's talking about something harsh and cruel in 'The Stroke?'

Station that plays music from the eighties, nineties and today: Would 'Men Without Hats' please explain what 'The Safety Dance' is? Is it when you don't stand too close to your dance partner, or when you dance solo?

Classical station: Why did 'Beethovan' name 'A Fifth Of Beethovan' that? What happened to the preceding four?

And after all this, if you still don't find what you're seeking in the way of listening pleasure, we have the old reliable cds that we can just pop into the cd player, so enjoy.
