No, I Am Not A Scientologist [To Joel Friedman AKA Boleslaw Schlabatinskyskya]

By Sher Zieve
Feb. 16, 2005

No, Joel (yes his real name is Joel Friedman). I am not a Scientologist. As I told you in one of my two return emails (your address was provided by the editors to which you sent your original "outing piece" on me) to you: "Dear Mr. Friedland: I am writing in response to the information you sent to editors of websites to which I contribute. Virtually all of the information you have "gathered" about me has been available on the Net since 1998. Most certainly, nothing was or has been "hidden". I wrote a sci-fi novel. Is that not allowed for "conservatives" or just conservatives who write political columns? Also, although I am Christian, I did take courses in Scientology. However, that was many years ago. I have always found that it's beneficial to know what some others think and believe." I still can't figure out why it took you over an hour to "collect" the "dastardky information" on me. Your meds, maybe? BTW, did you know that Greta Van Susteren (Fox News) really IS a Scientologist? Maybe, you can now go after her.

In another email response to you (in which you advised that I was "hiding the bio that appears on my website...AND the website", I replied: "How bizarre! Nothing could be further from the truth. When I began writing political commentary, and for sometime thereafter, a link to my website was included." As a matter of fact, THIS is the website upon which I have linked to my website.

For heaven's sake, man. Have you nothing better to do? Ahhh. I guess not. The only thing that I had not published on the net (which would be foolish) was my address and phone number. But, you have already "threatened" that you may do so.

You were, also, quite accusatory when you wrote in one of your messages "SHE not he" as if I were trying to deceive someone. Again, Joel, my bio always includes "Ms."...that means I'm a woman. Ah, the slings and arrows of being a conservative writer! Your buds have already written to me "We got Jeff Gannon and now we're coming after you!" I guess you are. What a shame. But, as you mentioned on your blog http://www.livejournal.com/users/ticktockman/17695.html: "I'm single and a bum, disgustingly so. I was a broker for Morgan Stanley (Dean Witter) for a dozen years. I am "between jobs" and looking to change my career. I repeatedly tell the white lies of the stigmatized mentally ill. Since college graduation I've spent 1/3 of my time unemployed, 1/3 underemployed, and 1/3 working. Telling the truth -- that I was severely disturbed coming out of college and that I took a civil service job at the beginning of "my career" because my psychiatrist viewed the low-stress milieu as conducive to my recovery -- is highly unlikely to produce positive results."

Maybe this is your dreamt of "shot" to gain some noteriety for yourself. I, truly, have no idea. Or, maybe this will gain you the new career path you believe you so richly deserve. Kick us conservatives all you want. The more you kick, the closer you come to that foot falling off.
