Feb. 16, 2005 I will speak in general: the new age phenomenon works, that being terrorism, that is why it is becoming a workable state-sponsored solution to ways and means in getting what you want. We knew it was coming, and now the blackmail has started. Under the religious spirit it is being echoed. Syria uses it to intimidate Lebanon; China, Tibet Taiwan, Singapore, Australia and South Korea, and is trying with Japan. They always bring up Nanking to Japan, but forget Tibet; they got everyone thinking Tibet belongs to China simply because they killed off 1/3 of its inhabitants. North Korea is trying to have us bake their bread for them free, while they make bombs with their money; blackmail that’s all it is. Bin Laden worked it in Afghanistan, Iran works on a daily basis. Why not, it’s boiled down to a passionate and persuasive global quest for the last dictators of the 21st century. Jordan’s king is in fear he will get thrown off his throne soon so he is an indirect sponsor of it; as is the Saudi family in fear they will get thrown out of their house of gold and swimming pools; and have been a supporter of it for decades. In this recent case of the slaying of Rafiq Hariai, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, France can yell and scream all day long, but at the end of the day, they will be at the Café de Flora, having coffee as usual. General Secretary Annan of the United Nations will be at the millionaires club in New York City playing cards. And Washington will be frozen the Statue of Liberty, worried about not allowing it to continue, in fear we will get slapped in the hands by the international community who will do nothing. The Security Counsel which is made of five members at the UN: China and Russia, being two, do not care unless we bribe them to care; and as I said France is at the café, and England had enough in Iraq. So Syria will laugh it off at its desert oasis in Damascus. It’s a merry-go-round. And here was a president that rebuilt the whole city of Beirut back to its one time splender, only to be scorned again by Syria; such a shame. ------------ About the author: Mr. Siluk is a world traveler, a lover of the mysteries around the world, and has visit many World Heritage Sites, his most recent being Easter Island, the Galapagos and Mesa Verde.
