Feb. 5, 2005 Is living in the wild possible? If you are in a little boat, in the ocean. One never knows when they might hit a whirl pool. Or, meet a walrus. They get rather mean, and made a load noise. They are known to swim under the boat. So huge they can tip it. I got caught in a whirl pool in the ocean. I had a small motor boat for fishing. The fishing is grand, and I jigged alot. Never got much into wanting to go for salmon. I did research in the highest mountain in British Columbia Canada. It took me two months to figure thing's out. I wanted to know how one could live in the wild. Everyday I would do the same thing's to survive. At time's getting bored of the same thing. So, finding something new to do or think about. I wanted to know what sort of seed's to bring next time. Maybe, some pig's, and turkey's. Chicken's for egg's, and one fifty pound bag of potatoes. Then, dry the seed's every year for the following. There would be my vegetable's, and winter crop. For ever more unless a draught. I ate some of the best well fed food of man kind. Rice, ling cod that I caught. One day I caught one rock cod that weighed 24 pound's. A ling cod that weighed 28 pound's, and a rather large salmon. I would stock my fish for the winter. I hunted half the day, and fished the other. In the morning got wood off the shore to dry for a fire. I picked chantrell mushroom's, and studyed all about mushroom's. Cause, there is an identical poisonus one. Fryed with butter was very good with rice, and ling cod. I would pick a nap sack full for the whole week. I figured I could sell some of the fish I catch. Just take a rather long boat ride to town. To pick sell it to the local restaurant's. There is money to keep the boat going, and more bullet's. Also, had a generator, and a lap top even. Although, I could only run it on the generator for one hour each day. A cell phone that hardly ever worked. They made the movie "7th Warrior“ where I was one month before. I never knew this until I went further up the mountain. I got to set on the totem pole they left there. Many bear's that weighed up to 3700 pound's. Ones that would set in the middle of the road. While trying to go to town in the car. They literlaly took the whole road up. That's how big their bum was. The car stopped, and piled the bullets into it. It knew it was bigger. One day I took the option of going to the very top. A place where no man walked as of yet. Unless brought there by plane. Three other known men might of walked there. I was on a four wheeler, and had two accident's. One right after another. The ground was made of sword like rock's. Cave's so big up on top of other hill looking thing's. So, far away, but the trail toward's them was large. You know how a trail gets little further away? These ones never. I was in a land where the un seen hide. A rather large bear walked about a mile away. Although, it looked like it was almost staring at me. On the way down the mountain I went thrugh diferent storm levels. One time it would be raging rain, and another time hail. Very wicked, and fierce. At the bottom it was sunny, and blue. I didn't really think I would make it to the bottom. There was fishing pond's at the top. I would like to go back someday to explore it more. A raging fierce fire started about 1000 feet from the ocean. It was seventy feet high of something. It burned forever night, and day. I am still not sure what it was. It wasn't there when I first got there. It took me thirty mile's to get out of the mountain to human life. That was done on a gravel road through woods. A place in the winter time you can't get to. Cause, the storm's, and weather below 50 degrees. Although, men are starting to build there. There was only one resort, and that started after I got there. There was to many grizzly bear's for deer to survive. I could either move to the ocean. Or, drive five mile's to a lake, and for free. So, I stayed there for a month, and did some peace fishing. A change from the sea shell's, and walrus's. .Also, there was no adoring night light's. Shining, and glimmering off the ocean. While the cruise ship of Alaska cruised by. One night it had to come to the warf cause it was storming. Yet, I got my first deer, and ate the liver that hour. I have not had food for two months. It was a delicacy, and very tender. Living in the wild is possible with a good set of bullet's. The right gear, and a want to be free. ------------ About the author Marlene Thornton: Born in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. My bio is on my home page. I have won many awards in poetry.
