We’re still burning crosses,
Not so much on front lawns
In the absence of dawn,
But in subtle ways…

POLITICAL OPPRESSION,
RACIST PERCEPTIONS,
EXCLUSION,
THE “EQUALITY” ILLUSION,
MISEDUCATION
OF FUTURE GENERATIONS,
JOB DISCRIMINATION,
POLICE INTIMIDATION,
SUBURBAN SEGREGATION,

We’re still burning crosses.

We’re still burning crosses
With many casualties and losses…

MEDIA HYPE,
NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES,
PURSE STRINGS BEING PULLED
ON PROGRAMS FOR THE POOR,
THE “BELL-CURVE THEORY”
ADDING TO THE SCORE!

We’re still burning crosses.
