I'm Trapped In An Abusive Relationship

You see, I am a WVU fan. Have been forever. Every year I think "this might be the year.This might be the year they break out of their mediocrity and do something" Every year they break my heart.

If there is a fitting description for the WVU mountaineer football team it is this: a team that took underachieving to a whole new level. Blessed with great athletic talent on both sides of the ball, the team never really imroved.

Rasheed Marshall, the team quaterback, broke record set by Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick (anyone hear of them?) Running back Kay-Jay Harris ran for 337 yards in one game. Standouts like Adam "Pac man" Jones and Scott Gyorko lead the defense. This was a team that at one time this season was ranked 6th in the nation, and now look at them.

They failed their major games, not because they didn't know how to play football,but because they lacked discipline, an essential for any team.

Now, they must face Florida State University in the Gator Bowl. Bobby Bowden once coached for WVU so maybe he'll really run up the score on us. It would only continue the tradition of losing big games.

So I am predicting a blowout in the Gator Bowl, with WVU on the receiving end. But I will certainly be back next season hoping for the best and letting the cycle of abuse start all over again.

Onto other things.

Must this site suffer through another debate about an untalented pop star, popular with pre teens? Trashy or not she still can't sing.

Congrats Eric on winning columnist of the year. Although I must confess that I didn't vote for you. (I voted for Ken Hughes) Nothing personal, I still think you're an excellent writer.
