Dec. 29, 2004 I wasn't surprised that someone like Mr. Eric Schomburg would get the prestige award of being Columnist of the Year. I am happy for him and congratulations are in order. If I can sum up the best column he wrote was the column regarding racism and art. He explains how using racist words like the N-word doesn't mean that you are a racist. Apparently he used the word in his new book, An Apocalyptic Dream, only in dialogue. I do want to thank Mr. Schomburg for actually acknowledging me in his appreciation article, I knew for a fact I wasn't going to win, because I'm probably the least popular columnist in Useless-Knowledge; however, you, Mr. Schomburg, are respected as a writer. You don't get published twice and not be a good writer. Congrats are in order for Mr. Schomburg. ------------ About the author Megan Williams: I'm from Memphis, Tennessee, and I am a school teacher who teaches history.
