Dec. 29, 2004 Woah! Talk about reactions... and I thought, maybe, just maybe, I was the only one offended by the "school teacher's" article about Britney Spears. First of all, she's a school teacher (I'll give her the benefit of the doubt), so, she should purchase a Thesaurus. Her overuse of the word "skank" was pathetic, to say the least. Secondly, her article reeked with undeniable jealousy. I mean, frankly, if all these "skanks" aggravate her to that extent, why bother writing an article about them? Didn't she have anything else to do? Grade some papers? Knit a sweater? Feed her dog? I mean really. She spent an hour of her time writing an article defaming someone she has never even spoken to. Okay, Britney can dress sexy, and yes, she smokes, and flipped off the Paparazzi. But really, do you honestly think she doesn't know what she is doing? If so, you're sorely mistaken. Forbes Magazine has named Britney Spears the world's most powerful celebrity. She grosses approximately $40 million big ones a year. Yes folks, Spears has made a discovery! No publicity is bad publicity. At age 21, Britney Spears has the business world, and marketing strategies all figured out... As far as role model goes, have you heard of the The Britney Spears Foundation? Her foundation supports an annual camp for the Performing Arts for kids in need. The Britney Spears Foundation also creates playrooms for children on extended hospital stays. Did you also know that a grant of $1 million was made to the Twin Towers on behalf of Britney and her foundation? Let's face it, Britney has reached heights of success that most of us can only dream of. Personally, I am proud of her, and happy for her. Some people must learn to look inside themselves before judging others... hint hint. ------------ About the author: Pam is law student.
