Dec. 28, 2004 This article is being submitted immediately after Christmas of 2004. There have been scores of writers, speakers, theologians and other religious leaders who come out of their shells every year at this time to assure us that Christmas is a special time set aside to celebrate the birth of the savior of humanity. The problem is they have absolutely no evidence for their claims. Christmas, Christianity and the gospel story are all fabrications of a much different culture than the one we now live in. Don't believe me? Well, then, let's start by having a little peek at the book of books. The Bible is considered by most Christians to be the actual inspired, infallible Word of God. However, it doesn't take long to see that this so- called inspired sacred book contradicts itself, which is evidence enough that it is a human invention. Since Christmas is supposed to celebrate the birth of Christ, let's look at his genealogy. It only appears in Matthew and Luke. That is enough by itself to make you wonder. Why isn't it in the other two gospel books? Because it was fabricated later after Christianity was invented. But actually I wanted to look at a comparison of the two genealogies because if they are about the same person they should be essentially identical. They are not. In Matthew's gospel we see that the father of Joseph is different than the one given in Luke. Most Christians will say that this indicates that one genealogy is acutally for Joseph and the other is actually for Mary. But they aren't being truthful. Both genealogies make it abundantly clear that they are speaking about Joseph. Jews didn't care about the mother's genealogy because only the father had legal rights to give to his son. Additionally there are a different number of ancestors given in the Matthew account than in the Luke story. Why? Again, it's because the stories were fabricated after the fact and were desperate attempts by different factions in the Christian church to make Jesus seem like a deity while retaining his human heritage. How can a deity even have a human heritage? That's a ridiculous idea! I hope I've given free-thinkers some food for thought. This isn't all. However, I challenge Christians to read the rest of the gospel story in the Bible and see how many other discrepancies there are. I won't take time to list them all here because that would take an entire book. But, if you want to discuss them with me you may contact me at my e-mail. Needless to say I foresee the decline of Christianity simply because it has outlived it's usefulness and we are much to sophisticated to belive in fairy tales anymore. I believe that religion is nothing more than myth disguised as truth. There should be more material for another article in that statement alone.
