Dec. 27, 2004 So you are engrossed in an interesting conversation with a friend or relative on your home cordless telephone when you get signals from the communicating device indicating that the battery needs to be recharged. As you rush to get that last word in, your conversation comes to an end as the battery goes to sleep. Anxious to resume that discussion, you scamper around for another telephone in the house that works while you place the cordless device back in its cradle for a recharge. While some people have replaced all their land line telephones with those portable, cordless ones, it is probably a good idea to keep one land line phone in your abode because no matter how highly advanced your cordless phone may be, it runs on a battery. And batteries, especially the rechargeable ones that come with your portable phones need to be revived ever so often. I have also noticed that lately, some of these cordless phones come equipped with two receivers; while you are using one, the other is being recharged. So while you are running low on one receiver, you can reach for the already charged one before you lose the signal on the one that needs to be recharged. Still keep one land line installed just in case, and the answering machine in functioning form if the battery in your Caller ID decides to fail as well, for fear that you might miss that important call for which you have been waiting. ------------ About the author Judy Ramsook: My first book titled: "Karen's Adventure" which is about two young girls who go in search of their missing parents, is now available.
