Dec. 26, 2004 You may not agree with this story but it is only to make a point. I am not saying I believe or disbelieve. I also am unquestionably not telling you what you believe is right or wrong but it is something to think about. Years ago before man even existed. You see I for one have a problem with that. Man was not around forever and a day. I better not start this story from before the beginning but the first arrival of mankind. No I can’t do this. I can’t possible tell you how man began because I just don’t have possess the knowledge base so the best place to start this tale would be the birth of Christ. There is a woman married to a man. This is normal thus far is it not? This man was a normal man and the woman I would guess was your average woman. Now here is where I have a problem. Now the woman is pregnant. I still buy it as fact. Now to say that this woman is a virgin I start to lose it. How does this happen. Even if the lord himself preformed his magic in his special way I can see this as a fact so I will go on. Now I think what really happened here is that Mary told her dad that she was pregnant. He got pissed and disowned her. Better yet she never told him at all so she ran away. Joseph was told that God made her pregnant so he wouldn’t leave her alone. He bought the whole story. This is why she had to have her baby in a barn. She had no money just picked up some strangers on the way. These strangers were full of useless knowledge so she Mary thought they were so wise. Three wise men they called themselves. Who the hell bill’s themselves as three wise men and were their only three in the world? Joseph I am beginning to see a pattern here. Mary just loved men. She hung around with them all the time. She surrounded herself with them. Ok before you guys have a fit I will get to my point. The baby Jesus was indeed born. The all healing and all knowing and all powerful now a teenager is on his own walking about the world healing and saving. This is great I must admit. He did come from a dysfunctional family now you must admit. I mean why he is on his own at such a young age. Mary is denying ever having sex so that tells me she won’t admit having sex with her hubby. She is involved with another man or being in her case which turns out in the end to be her own son. Blaspheme has nothing to do with this I’m only making you think so back off. Now the tale flows through the countryside that the son of god is walking about. He is all knowing and well a chip off the old block. Now we know the rest of the horrible story. Years past and the story of the great man that has been crucified swept the countryside I believe trust me but here is where we sort of get confused. Even you the most religious person on the planet have to admit this if you dare to. I am not disputing the story of Jesus or his horrible fate. I’m on your side. The people of that time were outrageously out of control. They were having orgies left and right. Stealing and rape were at number highs and chaos was running amuck. Some king somewhere had an idea to control this. They wrote a book about God. You can’t tell me that the stories in the Bible happened. Why are they not still happening? I know for a fact that god works in mysterious ways but think about it. Back then his ways were huge and destructive. I don’t think God would hurt people. I think our God is a kind God. People at most are of a scared nature. You show then a God that will kill them is they are bad and trust me they will be good. Keeping them in line was the motive at hand and it worked for the most part. Their was still some crime but that’s life and this King was forced to make some rules. I saw a preacher on the television yesterday. He was telling his parishioners that if they did not give him ten percent of what they earned that the other ninety percent will be cursed by God. If you buy that one then go right ahead. I think our almighty has no need for money. If the man told his followers that the money was to help people less fortunate then I would surely agree. He did not. He told the people that the money was to be used for his vacations, cars, homes and what not. I think he is in store for a big awakening when he meets his maker. Here is food for thought. Who do you think dies a better death? Is it someone that thinks or knows in fact that he or she is going to a land of delight or do you think the one that believes he just ceases to exist? The one that thinks he is going to a better place of course. God is a concept, nothing more and nothing less. That’s what most people think anyway. I think I will be walking on a cloud until I get to that pearly gate and three angels will take me by the arm and walk me to my new position in life. As I come to a close I wasn’t to brush over this short subject real fast. God put us here and that’s that. He does not control what we do therefore we should not blame him when ever something bad happens in our lives. He gave us our start and said run with it. If a child runs out into the street God did not tell him to do it. We blame him anyway. He gave us a fish but never told us to eat them all at one sitting. What we do is our own doing. He just watches from above to see his artwork once in a while. Sometimes he is proud and other times he is appalled. But it certainly is not his fault. We have to start taking responsibility for our own actions and realize that men are men and women are women. There is no one better or worse. Spreading the word of the Lord is great but being a pain in the butt is not so great. Do me one small favor. The people living in a small village in Africa or the Amazon need teaching. The civilized world knows about Jesus and what he did for us. Go away and teach somewhere else. It also seems to me that “Born Again” people are people that hit rock bottom in their lives. Now they think they are better then we are. I got news; I am not born again because I never left the lord so go peddle your goods somewhere else. Thanks now I am sure the email will pour in by those that didn’t get what I was doing here. I know you are intelligent and get it. ------------ About the author: Bob D.
