Dec. 10, 2004 Two of the aging Old Liberal Democrat Guard, Jesse Jackson and US Rep. John Conyers, recently held an ‘event’ in DC that they dubbed "Preserving Democracy: What Went Wrong in Ohio”. From what I’ve been able to ascertain, the only thing that went wrong in Ohio was the NAACP’s attempts to register voters in exchange for crack cocaine. However, Jesse and John were still frenzying up the Dem leftist base with Jesse’s comment: "This race is not over until it is certified -- every vote is counted and honored." Earth to Jesse: “The Ohio presidential race’s electoral votes HAVE been certified. President Bush won.” Never one to let facts and truth cloud his issues, Mr. Jackson continued with his comment that he was going “to make a moral appeal". A “moral” appeal? From Jesse Jackson? He must have been kidding. Jackson went on to say that he will call for a “thorough investigation” and that he is not satisfied with the International Investigators’ (Organization for the Security and Co-operation in Europe) conclusions that the US presidential election was “generally marked by professionalism and dedication." Remember, it was the Democrats (including former President Jimmy Carter) who told us we HAD to have international observers (of THEIR choosing) to ensure that our elections “would be fair”. Now, Jackson is dismissing the OSCE findings…as well as its members. Jackson is also screaming for the Electoral College to be eliminated. Did Jesse even take a look at the 2004 popular vote count? The last time I checked, approximately 4,000,000 more votes were cast for President Bush than for John Kerry. But, maybe there’s something else Jesse can annihilate. Perhaps, he can stop his own on-going and embarrassing incursions into elections in which he isn’t a candidate. Hmmm. Has he ever been a real candidate for any elected office? The problem Mr. Jackson has is that he is no longer viable or important to anyone or any political party. He no longer ‘makes a difference’…if he ever did. It has become more and more difficult for Jesse to continue to intimidate and coerce large corporations into giving him money…so that he won’t call them racist. Jesse Jackson is moving out of the limelight and has begun to approach the oblivion of his own making. However, even though he has become an increasing embarrassment to himself and others, still he persists in attempting to regain some of his self-proclaimed and self- perceived ‘glory’ of his younger days. Please Jesse, for your own sake and the sake of all of the rest of us, give it up and retire. And, quit threatening to sic Michael Moore on us, with another fake “Fahrenheit 9/11” type film; this time about the 2004 election. Just move on into your self-created stupor and relax.
