Dec. 7, 2004 I will like to share this short story about what christmas is. Long time ago,an old woman told me this ancient story of what Christmas is. It happened long ago when the creator sent the only man to planet earth to multiply. He gave him a small light to guide , direct and protect him in his journey. Through carelessness, he lost the light and since then,he had been walking in darkness. He multiplied but, they were all in darkness. The family grew into a small settlement yet, they still lived in darkness. Gross darkness took over them. They sold, ate, drank, and washed in darkness. The creator promised them another light but,days rolled into weeks, weeks into months, months into years and years into centuries. Yet there was no light or the traces of light. The people of the village normally gathered together to wine and dine every forthnight at their leader's compound all in the name of waiting for their creator's light. Then one day, like a thief in the night a man came in tattered cloth and had a light in his hand. He met them as usual winening and dinning and he pleaded for a sit among them but, he was despised, beaten, rejected and ignored. Despite all that, he left the light at the enterance of the settlement until their leader who happened not to be present when he came with the light saw it and requested for the person that brought it. He was amased to know that even when he was rejected he still loves them. He told the villagers that the person who brought it is their creator's son and yet he dropped it.WHAT MANNER OF LOVE IS THIS? Jesus christ was the man in tattered cloth who came to give us light. He loves us so much and died for us. Christmas is all about love because christ is love.
