Dec. 2, 2004 Our in-country terrorist funding and supporting organization (AKA the United Nations) may have forced us into war with Iraq. As the extent of the UN “leaders” corrupt collaboration with Hussein, in reference to the Iraqi oil-for-food program, appears to exceed anything in recorded human history (now approximated at $21B), it has also become evident that the deals some UN leaders made with Saddam Hussein allowed him to buy caches of weaponry to fight and kill US troops. The UN (still oddly based in New York City USA) has not only expressed anti-Semitic positions but, has been anti-US for many years. And, yet the UN remains in the USA. The reason for it probably relates to the old adage: “Keep your friends close but, your enemies closer”. The deals the UN leaders (including members of the UN Security Council) made with Hussein appear to include affecting nothing more against him and [their] waiting for the imposed period of sanctions against Iraq to expire. In exchange for their assistance, the UN leaders were paid handsomely, by Hussein, with oil-for- food dollars; most of which were provided by the United States. The Duelfer Report came to the same conclusion. After the sanctions against Iraq had run their course, the corrupted UN leaders agreed not to impose additional ones. That would have left Saddam Hussein free to, again, pursue the development of nuclear weapons. In essence, due to the clandestine corruption of these UN members, the US would be paying for its own demise. I imagine many, if not all, of these members chuckled and laughed out loud with one another about the irony of the situation. And, of course (due to the lucrative pay-offs they were receiving from Saddam) the UN members refused to enforce their own sanctions and warnings against Iraq. This gave the United States no choice but, to enforce the UN mandates FOR the UN. Of course, as Hussein refused to agree, we were forced into war with Iraq. This war might have been avoided, had the United Nations not succumbed to bribes. An interesting side note to the UN scandal is that, even after its exposure by the Duelfer report, leading Democrats still maintained and continue to maintain that we should seek the UN’s support in Iraq! It sounds as if the Democrat Party and their attendant leftists recognize their own. Hopefully, a complete and honest report on the UN corruption will soon be forthcoming. It strongly sounds as if the UN should, at the very least, be completely overhauled. Or, it should be disbanded. How can the corrupted members of this organization, who would sell out not only other countries for personal gain but their own as well, be allowed to continue to have any real world power? The answer, in my opinion, is that they should not. The United Nations had lived much longer than its ability to be useful. ------------ About the author: Sher Zieve has written more than 100 articles for Useless-Knowledge and is a Conservative political commentator.
