Aug. 31, 2005 Eight years ago in the early hours of the last day of August, people the world over learned of the shocking news of the late Princess Diana’s auto accident death. But as the word spread and more news about the fatal incident unfolded, people, who disbelieved it at first, wept as the reality of the situation took shape. Maybe no one slept that night after learning of the death of one so loved by millions of people the world over. But they did not mind losing sleep over her, for she was their Princess, a Princess most people could identify with. For everywhere she went during the course of her time as Princess Of Wales, she reached out to those far and wide, rich and poor. And of course, no one would soon forget her visit to Angola in her stand against the installation of land mines. So, here’s to you, Princess Diana, wherever you are, on this, the eighth anniversary of your departure from this world, we still miss your presence. ------------ About the author Judy Ramsook: My first book titled: "Karen's Adventure" which is about two young girls who go in search of their missing parents, is now available.
