Aug. 26, 2005 While lying on his back and gazing up at the ceiling light in a profound state a small boy hears a voice and realizes, "I am here and all is well." These words pop into the child's mind like raindrops pop on a metal roof or popcorn kernels pop in a hot kettle. The words come without any effort and no conscious mind or will has meted out the words, any more than a conscious mind or will metes out solar flares. Furthermore, in an inexplicable euphoria the wee child knows he will always remember this realization and this special spot in place and in time. For some reason or reasons this boy is often so radiantly at peace and so quiet, while he is perceiving this profound wellness of just being here now. In this wonderful euphoria the boy's perceptions remain very clear. He sees, hears, smells, and touches everything with great perception. Indeed, his contentment is so great that he seeks for nothing more. He imagines nothing and he remains quiet and motionless for long periods. Problems accrue when other people expect this unusual boy to move, talk, think, and listen as they speak. In time the boy shows a more normal human side but still in solitude he meditates and senses more clearly. Over the years he becomes more curious about his euphoria and his clear perceptions. In his clearness, however, the boy doesn't talk or think. Other children are baffled by his unusual demeanor. Certain children attack him often. This unpleasantness at the hands of ignorant people often causes the boy to feel anxious. The boy is cultured in the United States of America, where persons don't understand this realm of clear perceptions, and where people call this "autism" a "disorder." Not all "autistic" boys are exactly alike, but this particular "autistic" boy has a gift of clear wordiness which provides oracular information about the supreme happiness and wellness. The oracular talent manifests when the boy isn't trying to think or trying to navigate in space or time with no goal in sight and no clock or person to race. Some people, however, still say that he lives in "his own psychotic world out of our reality and out of contact with non-psychotic people." They say this to hide their ignorance. The timeless realm does exist and it is expressed in certain ideas and works whose value remains true from age to age. These truths are not ephemeral faddisms. A person whose ability is most apparent in stillness and apart from people can't produce best work without a special agent. Personal independence is so important to Americans, that the boy had to learn to think, talk, and sense space and time the way most scholars do every day. This attention to school work and conversation challenged and depressed the boy. His chronic depression didn't lift until years later as a man he recultivated his innate oracular talent. The man's clear perception accompanied his spontaneous writing and speech. He simply developed and demonstrated an oracular talent, a talent that isn't recognized and encouraged today in conventional modern society. Receptive to what is always beyond space and time, the man's talent is for studying what doesn't change and is present everywhere at all time. That is the eternal omnipresent. You can say that this realm doesn't actually exist, or is totally imaginary, but a man of integrity does remain himself from place to place and from time to time. The body changes but the person of integrity remains the same. The whole person feels a continuity from moment to moment and this continuity transcends both space and time. Speaking of pleasures, the joy that depends upon material goods is local and ephemeral. The joy that is independent of material goods is permananent and global. That transcendental joy can be as great in a poor greedless man as in a rich greedy materialistic man, but billions of greedy materialists would soon totally exhaust the Earth. Therefore, to preserve the Earth that sustains us and all our descendants, billions of humans will soon live as poor and blessed greedless enjoyers of the transcendental pleasure. All the other exits from doom are bolted shut. Modern people trust in doctors, in priests, and in some other great strivers who labored for years to rise to a position of social respect, influence, and power. This emphasis on striving reflects the emphasis on conscious effort. Each oracle is in joy without conscious effort and all such persons speak or write of the future realization liberated from constraints of time and space. Each oracle speaks or writes of peace and wellness, and a place where each and every person is encouraged to keep the transcendental sense of "I am here and all is well." ------------ About the author: John L.
