Conservatives Would Like Cindy Sheehan To Disappear [The War In Iraq Keeps Dragging On]

By Stan Grimes

The war in Iraq drags on and Bush’s polls keep dropping. We have a president whose pride and arrogance has killed over 1800 American soldiers. He’s out on the campaign trail selling his justification of an illegal war. Who is he visiting? The military moms and dads that already have shown their support for the war.

Conservatives would like Cindy Sheehan to go away, disappear. Maybe she will disappear. One person cannot carry the torch for everyone against the war, but there will be more Cindy Sheehans. The more soldiers killed, the more Cindy Sheehans will surface on the anti-war front.

We have a president that has signed into law a bill that will increase gas mileage for SUVs from 22 miles per gallon to 24 miles per gallon, in a six-year period. Wow, what a monumental move. How many lobbyists did he sleep with to get that bill passed? We have a president that tried to sell his sham of a program for partial privatization of Social Security. People aren’t buying into it. Even his party isn’t buying into it.

What has President Bush done? He has tried to force his way into your home through the Patriot Act and has used his religious beliefs to attempt to stop Terri Schiavo’s husband from allowing his wife to die with dignity. Bush has been able to lose the confidence of the American people. His handling of the war has lost support from the majority of his nation’s citizens. President Bush will no doubt go down in history as one of America’s worst presidents.

The Republican Party has begun its much-expected distancing from Napoleon Bush. If they stick with him, they will be guaranteed a loss in 2008. Once I thought Napoleon’s brother, Jeb, would make a bid for the oval office, I don’t think so now. His big brother has ruined Jeb’s chances. Jeb might be able to get a job on the border patrol in Texas.

The one good thing I can say about George W. Bush is that he has begun plans for a new library honoring his name. So far, one book has been donated, the dictionary (an old Webster his dad used to use to prop George’s bedroom window up when he was in college).
