Aug. 23, 2005 Controversial TV evangelist Pat Robertson told viewers America should kill Venezuelan President Hugo Chaves to prevent the Latin American country from becoming a "launching pad" for extremism. The Rev. Jerry Falwell immediately expressed outrage at Robertson's statement, "How dare another evangelist steal the spotlight from me?", he thundered. In an effort to reclaim the media spotlight, Falwell called for the execution of Hillary Clinton. "Venezuela may be using its oil to undermine democracy in Latin America, but Hillary Clinton is using her oily charm to triangulate America into Communism", the Lynchburg, VA preacher warned. After hearing Falwell's demand for the execution of Hillary Clinton, Pat Robertson immediately upped the ante by insisting that "President Bush drop a nuclear bomb on Iran to "give those heathen a little taste of hell." In an effort to bring sanity back into the political process, Tinky Winky, SpongeBob Squarepants and Donald Duck implored all decent people to ignore the idiotic statements of American evangelists. ------------ About the author: Robert Paul Reyes is a columnist for the Lynchburg Ledger and has written over 100 articles for Useless-Knowledge.com.
