Space And Time

By Bob D. Caterino
Aug. 13, 2005

Man first went to the moon in my opinion just to see if we could. We needed to beat Russia there for no other reason but to show we were better. Many died trying to explore the outer sphere of the Earth but at a cost. We have lost many of out brave people over the years and won't forget, we mustn't forget. The great new frontier will show a future for many and who knows, one day we may all have a chance to go visit some planets in the future.

My concern is all the money we spend for our space program. We have many in this country starving to death or living substandard lives. We have spent billions on our space program and well, it seems to me that if we could spend half as much we could help many in the long run. We need to help others before we explore other possibilities.

If we do end up with a resort on another planet we could be assured that the rich will be the only ones going there for vacations. We have to focus and carefully do the right thing. We need a better plan not just handing out tons of money for space travel. I'm not saying it isn't important. I am saying priorities should be our first and foremost goal. Keep our children safe, feed the poor then explore the vast universe.

Lets all do the right things in our lives and I'll just bet the world would be better off in the long run. If we could share the wealth we all could live long and prosper.
