Aug. 8, 2005 The media shouldn't take demographics and ratings into account when deciding which stories to report, however we all know how things work. FOX News devotes a significant part of its daily programming to the Natalee Holloway case, because its discriminating viewers can't get enough of Natalee. Greta Van Susteren in particular has thrown journalistic objectivity and common sense out the window and devoted her nightly show to everything Holloway. This is Greta Van Susteren reporting from Aruba, today I'm interviewing the brother of a taxi driver who may have picked up the third cousin of one of the Kalpoe brothers, quite possibly on the night that Natalee Holloway disappeared. Please stay tuned for this FOX News exclusive... Greta's ratings are through the roof, but her integrity is in the toilet. One day her audience will finally lose interest in Natalee and her ratings will plummet. Greta has achieved the impossible, she's made Geraldo Rivera look like a paragon of virtue. Greta and her FOX News colleagues are obsessed with Natalee Holloway, it's up to us bloggers and Internet columnists to report on the story of the missing non-white inner city young lady, namely Latoyia Figueroa. FOX News should change its slogan to: We Report On Missing White Girls, You Eat It Up! Latoyia Figueroa, 24, is the attractive mixed-race Philadelphian who was last seen on July 18th walking from a friends' house after going to a doctor's appointment with her boyfriend, the father of her unborn child. Greta Van Susteren may not know or care that Latoyia Figueroa is missing, but Latoyia's friends and family are grateful for any coverage her disappearance receives.
