Aug. 4, 2005 I was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. I had my share of almost every crime wave you could think of. I literally had to beat them off with a stick at my own front door. I chased many a purse snatcher down my street. I saved a three year old girls life from a hit and run driver. I stopped many muggers from doing there thing. I am not a super hero this is just what we did in Newark, New Jersey. It was definitely time for a change after forty seven years of this type of atmosphere. I moved my family to Greenville, South Carolina, where the trees are greener and the quiet is so thick you can hear other people thinking. This lifestyle was a great need and I am so happy. Enter stage right. Place Georgia, time sometime on Friday, July 29th where two escape convicts stole an old pick up and were being chased by Georgia Police through that state. Now in North Carolina these escaped murderers proceeded there elusion of police but now had two state law enforcement agencies in hot pursuit. They ditched them and their truck brakes down so they steal a van in South Carolina. The Police were called and the chase was on. Now S.C., G.A., and N.C. law were chasing these thugs once again. Hot on there tail the thugs pull into the complex where I live but low and behold the street was being worked on. The van was forced to stop twenty feet from my door and there was a shoot out. The Fox five news was there so I being who I am held a poster up to the cameras showing my new book "Growing up Goomba." As shots whizzed passed my head I decided it wasn't such a great Idea so I went back inside. The police got one of the guys but the other ran into the woods. They caught this man the next day and retrieved his fifty seven magnum and all is well again. At first I thought to myself, ...I left Jersey for this kind of stuff but now that I thought about it I figured it was just something to keep me from being home sick. It was like a special show put on just for me. At least it isn't an everyday occurrence.
